Here we are sharing a yummy nutritious recipe to help alongside your hair loss treatment. From the book Spiralize it is Spaghetti with Prawns, Pesto & Pistachios. It is a very adaptable recipe, using zucchini in replacement of pasta, making it gluten free and to make it vegan the prawns can be replaced with broad beans or tofu. If you can attempt to grow your own basil and mint or source fresh organic herbs from your trusted grocer.
Recipe Ingredients: *Wild-caught 700g raw prawns shelled and deveined, tails on optional. *approx. 700g Zucchini (4-5) spiralized into noodles. *4 Tablespoons of cold pressed organic coconut oil. Pesto Ingredients: *A generous handful of fresh basil, plus extra to serve. *Sizeable handful of fresh mint leaves. *2 large garlic cloves *60g of activated toasted pine nuts. *1½ tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice. *1/2 cup of organic extra virgin olive oil. *Sea Salt and ground pepper to season. Ingredients to serve: 80g (1/2 cup) activated pistachio nuts, toasted and roughly chopped. *Extra virgin olive oil. *Lemon wedges from 1 lemon *Chili flakes (optional).

Method: Making the pesto, put all the pesto ingredients into a food processor and blitz it until all broken down, season with salt and pepper. Desired protein should be seasoned with salt and pepper. Put 2 tablespoons of coconut oil in a large frying pan with medium heat. Add the protein in batches and lightly pan fry 1 minute each side until just cooked through or browned (broad beans need to be boiled). Remove protein and set aside, keep warm. Lightly wipe out the pan and add fresh coconut oil to the pan over medium heat, add zucchini spaghetti and sauté for a couple of minutes just until it is just cooked through, season with salt and pepper. Removed from heat, toss pesto and protein all together. Plate us the dish, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle pistachios, a dash of lemon juice, and add the left-over basil leaves and a pinch of Chili flakes. Four servings expected from total dish.
