Hair Loss Treatment Story Post Cancer

In this story we see resilience and hope through difficult situations. Client presented with very thin hair diffusely over the head and further hair thinning at the front and recessions. This journey included breast cancer, surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. A year later, brain tumour, surgery and more radiation. Hair loss can be a side effect of chemotherapy and normally grows back, and it did, but not quite the same as what it was before.

A miracle then happened with pregnancy and childbirth, post-partum alopecia is post pregnancy diffuse hair loss which occurs three months after birth, three months after normal cycle resumes or three months after stopping breast feeding. Post-partum alopecia hair loss is a natural part of pregnancy and occurs with every pregnancy unless prevention steps are put in place in advance, it should be temporary and self-correcting. When nutritional status is sound and there is normal cellular function, hair regrowth should occur within 12-month time frame.

For this story, two and a half years later, the hair had not regrown and now was diffusely thinner all over the scalp and was thinner than following the treatment for cancer. Thinning hair can occur when there is disfunction at a cellular level which can be uncovered with microscopic diagnosis. Trichologist at Absolique uses a 60x magnification microscope at scalp level to uncover how the hair should be growing and establish when and where the hair is not growing normally. In this story microscopic diagnosis found 50% of the hair diffusely over the scalp was not growing normally resulting in hair thinning along with many dormant empty hair follicles meaning the hair had not regrown but the follicle was open, which is good news.

There was also more than 6 hairs per centimeter that had no visual structure and could only be seen with the microscope. This was all good news for Absolique Trichologist because the hairs were still alive, the human growing the hair is otherwise healthy and all we need to for hair regrowth is re-establish cellular health so hair can grow back to its normal hair structure as determined by DNA unique to you.
